Staying Downtown | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

AUSTIN, Texas, October 22, 2005 How can we just lock up the housed and stay downtown all day? Well...by putting the dog in the back yard with a bowl of water. The weather is temperate. We decided to spend all day downtown. We see film panels, hang out in bars and coffee shops, watch movies, peek at sports events here and there on public TVs. I'm not sure what movies we saw. I know we saw panels about writing cartoons (writers for King of the Hill) and documentaries. We bought tickets for the awards lunch at the last minute. It was at the Austin Club. That gave us the idea to eat dinner there. And we did. |

Yeah we were quietly dining with a few old school folks in the mural-lined dining room of the Austin Club while downtown became the raucous melee you expect after a UT home game. I told myself when I was preparing this entry: "It's really OK if you don't remember what you did." |
