AUSTIN, Texas, July 23, 2005 — I hope to get things done today. I hope I'll catch up the family budget and do my journal. I don't. But I do get some films reviewed for AFF and watch a Netflix film. (Man on the Train, a barely comprehensible French film, especially if you keep dozing or studying the crossword in one of the back issues of The New York Times, missing out on subtitles.) I do get a workout although all I do is ride the exercise bike and do some exercises for the lower back. I do visit with my dad. He drives over and has some lunch with us. Seems to be doing well.

We also took the dog for a bath. She got fleas at the Barking Hound. We cooked meals for ourselves.

FFP did an article for West Austin News that involved going to the Austin History Center and researching stuff.

It's good to be home. But you are right in the middle of all your chores. They are staring at you all the time and you can't easily ignore them while writing or reading or watching something on the tube. But I try. Somehow I have to get things more orderly in my life so that I can concentrate on what I'm doing at any given moment. Yeah, right. Well, another day is under my belt. I've watched movies, exercised. Sleep now. Still catching up on sleep.
