LITTLE ROCK, Arkansas to KNOXVILLE, Tennessee, July 6, 2005 Did I mention rain? I thought it would stop before morning. But it didn't. It wasn't raining too hard though at first when we were packing up. We got showers and I sent FFP to the portico with our luggage and got the car. No problem. I parked again, went inside, checked the room again, we had some free breakfast. We got off and it was raining. OK, let's get out of town. Maybe we can run out of it. Yeah. We should be so lucky. I drove a long way in the rain. The good news? It finally quit for a while. And the wrecks and real long construction snafus seemed to be westbound. FFP kept wanting to stop to stretch his legs, get a snack. Still, even with all that, we got to our hotel by five. Eastern time. |

We stayed in a Hampton Inn (wireless Internet, pools and treadmills I won't use, free breakfast) and ate at a place acroos the highway recommended in AAA. Which wasn't bad actually. Innovative vegies. Wine. Ah. Well. We will sleep. We will get an early start. We will actually visit Baltimore if all goes well.
