MARBLEHEAD, Massachusetts to Belgrade Lakes Region, Maine, July 15, 2005 — Bob has breakfast with us. Well, he drops by the B&B during breakfast. I think he's already done his breakfast routine. He has coffee. I have oatmeal and various other stuff. I feel fine this morning. We are showered up and have started packing the car.

We take a leisurely drive to Mount Vernon, Maine. I keyed in the wrong address for door-to-door or we would have done better. Found it, though.

My aunt rides over to Belgrade where she has reserved us a room at the Village Inn.

We are in the boondocks now. No internet or cell phone service on Sprint. (FFP will get a Verizon signal when standing in just the right spot outside.)

We walk up and down the little street, get some coffee and a pastry for FFP at Day's Store. We take pictures of the pretty little lakes (called ponds) and such. We look in some stores. I get some postcards.

My aunt and uncle come over for dinner at the Village Inn restaurant. Famous spot up here for duck. That's what I have and it's delicious. FFP's Osso Bucco is good, too. It's good to be here visiting and to see my aunt and uncle doing so well.

We go to bed and read and watch TV for a while. Tomorrow we make the family's traditional pilgrimage to the coast for lobster.
