AUSTIN, Texas, Mar. 10, 2005 — I actually got to the gym reasonably early. Still didn't do that great a workout. All in all I consider it a victory that when I do forty-five minutes on the recumbent bike and some static lunges and a couple of other weight things...I feel guilty.

I head home, get cleaned up and go to The Container Store. I get some boxes deep enough that some of my mother's miniature displays will go in them. I also buy some strapping stuff to put around a box for my sister to take on the plane and, while I'm at it, some pill holders FFP likes.

I look around at other stuff, see nothing I need and go to my dad's house. My sister has packed up a lot of stuff. I put the boxes together and put the displays in. Dad and I figure out the straps and fix up her box for the plane. I set her up boxing some more stuff and have a snack and look at the paper. Then we play a few games. We put a lot of the boxes and stuff in a closet to wait for Dad and I to take them to Colorado. (Or, alternatively, for someone from up there to come here in a car. That's unlikely though.)

We all play some games. I win a couple of Sequence rounds, lose to Dad at Spinners as I always seem to do. I set my sister to putting some more things she wants in boxes and take off.

At home, I watch a little TV, read a bit and wait for SuRu to come pick me up. She has gotten tickets to the Eileen Ivers concert at the Paramount. I think she'll be by at 5:30 but, in fact, she doesn't arrive until about 6:30. She's thinking of buying a house in our neighborhood. She drives by it to show me. We go downtown, find a parking place and head to Roaring Fork. It's crowded in the bar but we just get a table in the restaurant and have a salad and app and a glass of wine. Then we go to the show. It's rollicking...America meets traditional Irish fiddle. Very high energy. An interesting show.

It's late when I get home but I watch some TV and eat some cheese and a candy bar.

Tomorrow I have to take my sister to the airport. And the SXSW Film Festival starts. I'm going to switch gears, hang out a lot with FFP and see films, maybe even some panel discussions. So now some sleep.
