in a tizzy
The day seemed to be a whirlwind
of trying to make plans, adjust plans, do things, plan things.
We spend a lot of
time planning things. I had to switch a lunch date so that I could take
another volunteer slot for the film fest, I was e-mailing a friend in
California about meeting for lunch after Labor Day in the Dallas area,
I was trying to arrange for FFP and I to get together with our two young
friends to socialize and maybe see a film fest film. I was trying to
plan with my Dad for some time to continue the never-ending cleaning
out of things my mom 'collected' in his house. But I'll have to change
that because of this volunteer conflict. The contractor came by to have
subs review what it would take to do the remodel we are considering.
Planning to get that done will be a major effort. Meanwhile I'm trying
to look at the whole schedule of the upcoming fall and plan a couple
of short family trips. And, of course, I'm still trying to get my office
in better order. In the midst of that we were trying to show the building
to yet another prospect.
At the end of the
day, I had to do my volunteer stint. Sweeping, carrying, sweating. It
was interesting, however. Not something I'd do every day, but not so
bad either.

Time flies....
Organizing and planning future things
seemed to occupy me today. And, of course, I did volunteer for four hours
setting up for the AGLIFF party and spend over two hours at the club.

Reading.
From the Journals of M.F.K. Fisher.
It's funny to read journals during this time period when you know
the Pearl Harbor is looming.
I read the papers but I didn't exactly
finish reading them. Still...I'm much more up on news in real time.
