a bear for Namibia...a country I hope to visit next year

This day disappeared into the usual. A workout at the club. Sorting stuff from the trip.

In the evening, we went to a party a friend was giving in honor of her fiftieth birthday. Saw people we hadn't seen in a long time. One reminded me that our birthdays were close to one another. And that we were almost exactly the same age. I'd forgotten.

Ate. Drank. Home. Sleeping in our chairs as a preliminary to bed.

Fifty?
That's nothing.
That's young.
Someone reminds me.
That our birthdays are close.
So she knows.
Yes.
My bones know.
