selected shorts

I don't know. Life escapes me. But tonight we heard short stories read aloud for radio in an auditorium at the LBJ library. I must have exercised during the day because I was uncommonly thirsty and had to find a water fountain during the intermission. Paul Glasse played with a little group beforehand. We saw lots of people we knew. What else can I tell you? I failed to record anything else for myself.

"On several occasions I have actually read parts of my diary aloud to someone. But too much 'publicity' is destructive to a diary, because the diarist begins, unconsciously perhaps, to leave out, to tone down, to pep up, to falsify experience, and the reason for the undertaking becomes buried beneath posings."

Gail Godwin, A Diarist on Diarists

JUST TYPING
Random jottings.
We are unimportant.
But constitutionally.
Incapable.
Of believing it.
