"Dogs give us a picture
[I'm occasionally reviewing old, hand-written notebooks and I've decided to quote myself now and again. I can't say what inspired this.]
It is not enough to be happy; it is necessary, in addition, that others not be. |

lovely Sunday I am sleeping hard. I realize it's almost eight o'clock, though, and I decide to get up and get dressed and gulp some coffee. It's dog walk time. SuRu calls around eight. I get water and camera and dog equipment together and we go off to Clarksville. We ramble around and end up at Sweetish Hill and have a snack and coffee in the shade and go up the alley to Baylor and wind back to our car. It's been a while since we've been in the neighborhood. We notice brand new things. At home I mess around and mean to get in the yard. FFP goes to Central Market, comes home and we have lunch and pick up from that and I finally get out in the yard and clear up some more of the felled bamboo. I get some of the junk in cans before my dad comes over to bring some pictures for me to scan of his friend that I'm writing about for West Austin News. I stop because he comes and also because it's been over an hour and any more bending over and such and I'll be sore. A little at a time. Now that the bamboo project is nearing an end, I have to decide what to work on next time I'm out in the yard. Won't be a problem finding something. Dad and I talk, read and watch the Cowboys lose. He heads home to 'take a nap' when he starts dozing. I get up and do my picture scanning, copy edit something for Forrest and mess around with my computer. I wander back to the kitchen for water (I've swigged a Coke after getting in from the yard) and put away the dishes. Then back to my computer to do a little writing. I write a 'thank you' note and get a wild hair to watch 'Amelie' on the DVD as long as the system decides I can do that. I snack a little on chips and salsa and FFP makes some tofu miso soup with vegies in it and I have a bowl of that and it's quite good. Then I clean up the kitchen from that. I waste the evening watching TV. The first Simpsons is a rerun. The second is OK. King of the Hill is pretty cool. I hate The Sopranos now. I don't think I'll watch it anymore. The Practice is out...I should have watched Boomtown. It feels like a wasted day. Somewhere in there, surely, I accomplished something.
