Maybe
one of these boys will take care of me when I'm old. My cousin Bob's son
James and my great nephew John William (Jack) are nice enough kids, but,
nah, I wouldn't count on it.

packing, preparing, practicing, prancing Whoa. If I'm going to the ballet tonight and leaving tomorrow, I better pack. Going on a car trip with my dad pretty much guarantees an early departure, too. Still, I futz with my WEB page and mess around and make lists. But finally I do pack. In between, I've cooked up the black beans and a pot of brown rice. With onions, cheese and hot sauce, this is lunch for me and FFP as well as Dad. Dad is in the neighborhood to go to the bank and look for shoes. He doesn't like to shop. He hasn't bought a new pair of shoes in about seven or eight years and I took him to do that. I give him some boxes and bubble wrap to wrap up some of Mom's miniatures to take to my sister. He's already loaded the van with some other things the nieces wanted. Finally around three I go to the club. I ride the exercise bicycle while finally finishing the last few pages of A Beautiful Mind. I do some upper body machines and then go hit some tennis balls against the wall and practice a few serves. Then it's home to get ready to go out. Ballet Austin opens its season tonight and Good Right Arm (FFP's company) is a sponsor. So...I'll be off the air for a little over a week but maybe I'll fill in the days with some entries when I get back. Or not. |
