days when you look ahead Some days I can only look far, far ahead. The now seems not to matter. You sit in a meeting, listening, wondering how it will all pan out. Not tomorrow or next month. But a year from now. I take my dad to lunch. Mom is at a meeting of her miniature club. She likes to get out. She is back to doing things, maybe not feeling so bad. Dad says he will pay. We go to Antonio's, a cheap Mexican place and get plates of enchiladas. He gets a beer. I can't finish my food, but I have more and more appetite all the time. Forrest fixes dinner. It tastes good. I eat a few pieces of candy and collapse in my chair. I can't exactly read or watch TV. I just sit. I think I'm not quite over this cold.
