hurry up and wait Sometimes you wait for things to happen. Or other people do. "I'm boycotting until I know who the players will be," someone says. The rumor mill sucks away time. Sometimes leaders should lead somewhere and, right or wrong, make the destination clear. The trouble with leading by influence rather than power is that the people you convince may be led more strongly by power. But the good news is: if no one listens to you, then the results are hardly your fault. Lunch was the sushi special at Kyoto. Hadn't been there in a while. Went with a couple of old pals. Was a nice day to do that. The evening was a dinner for the Ballet Foundation. Held at a house we've visited before. They have lots of elegant Asian furnishings. Dell money. There is some good food...wonderful salmon, vegies and a delicious sauce, chinese noodles. FFP gives a donor pep talk.
