customer drill Visiting a customer is satisfying, enervating and yet energizing. It gives you a feeling of exhaustion but a reason for working. Up early with a breakfast over laptop, shower, check out on the phone, engage a car for the drive. (These guys I'm traveling with seem to have no cash. What's that all about?) After the customer visit, we catch a van to the airport. We are early so we sit on the concourse outside a pub with a beer and watch an energetic young man try to sell Bose stereos. Our plane is more or less on time. It takes longer flying west, I always forget that. Our layover in Dallas is sort of long, too. Another drink in Dallas (Jack Daniels and water).. Combined with my decongestant that allows my ears to fly this should put me into a coma. It doesn't. They have to inspect the engine after we board, making us another half hour late. It's Thursday before I get home, exhausted.
