Had lunch with my rep from KGSR and one of my favorite clients at the
Four Seasons. Good time was had by all and I really think that we might
get some good action out of what's being proposed.
Found out that they're going to just auction off the Mother Ginger
slot we had open for Nutcracker at the Gala. Just as well, but I hate
that we couldn't get a really stud celebrity for the second slot. Who
knows, though? We might get a real ringer in there anyway!
I'm getting anxious for the CD party and the Ballet Nutcracker Ball
to happen. If for no other reason, I want to get reactions from other
people about Rebecca's CD. She wants me to give a speech, so I'd better
buckle down and get my words ready. It's composed in my head, but it
would do me good to type it out.
Michael Dell had a big article in the Wall St. Journal today about
just in time inventory and how they punished suppliers who didn't perform.
Well, I sure as heck jumped through some hoops with his ads-even getting
stuff to a national magazine's production manager two days after the
deadline sometimes to meet MD's demands. "Just in time," my rear! And
we sure as heck didn't have Macs to use back then. Nosiree. Raw slicks
and paste-ups and negs for the four color. Whatever. If those big shot
tech writers only knew what some of us went through to get him up the
tough part of the hill. Oh well.
Linda got a huge reaction from the Nutz rehearsal tickets that we offered
BMC. Actually, that is great, because now there is an entree for group
sales out there. trying to do my part for the Ballet, guys.
