taking the time
Sometimes you just have to take
a little more time than usual in doing things. Just because.
Everything took longer
today. I was in slow motion in the morning. Had a late night last night.
It was Sunday morning and I knew I didn't have any serious obligations.
I finally got to the club and got through some exercise. My sore back
slowed me down, too.
When I was at Dad's,
packing things up, I kind of moved slowly from room to room, deciding
what to take to my sister's house, deciding how to pack it, picking
some things to give the little kids, things to give away to friends
and other family. I watched some of the U.S. Open Men's Final on TVs
in a couple of the rooms.
When I came home
from Dad's I moved in slow motion, too. I think it's my sore back or
maybe I've just entered a too contemplative mood.

JUST
TYPING
You can't stretch
time.
But you can stretch the time you spend on things.
Dawdling over them.
Looking at them from all the angles.

Food Diary.
About 2pm
a small portion of Michaelangelo's eggplant parmesan and a large
salad of carrots, spinach, lettuces, broccoli, green onions, tomato, cheese
and low fat dressing
About 7-8:30pm
cheese, chips, carrots, green onions and a Miller Lite
My, my, what a diet.

Time flies....
The first thing I knew it was three
o'clock. I got up kind of late and immediately started doing stuff like
spilling water on the night table and bumbling around. I wrote e-mails
and journal entries. Soon it was 11:30 and I was just getting to the club.
I didn't return until 1:30 and then I had to eat and shower and clean
up the kitchen. I didn't get to Dad's until about four and I spent a couple
of hours packing stuff and watching the U.S. Open Men's Final. I didn't
get home until almost seven. The evening...was just TV...Timothy Bottoms
pretending to be George W. Bush and Sex in the City and such.

The journal
is becoming more of an obsession. I am nearing the end of a full year
of entries. It almost feels like an accomplishment!
