contacts

Life is led in a web of contacts and making them and keeping them means a lot.

We enjoy an event. It raises money. We meet a prospect for the building. I discuss tennis with potential partners. I hear discussions of businesses I'm interested in.

We take an older friend who is still a working musician out to meet Rebecca and our young friend who sings like Sinatra.

You meet people. Sometimes they want or need something. A contact, a tennis partner, advice, a friend. Sometimes you do. Connections really mean a lot. They do. We get things done with other people. We don't stand alone.

I worry about spending enough time with our parents, too. I'm glad that my sister has her husband, her daughters and a young friend of the family to help with care-giving. I'm glad I have people. And I'm glad people I love have people to count on, too.

JUST TYPING

Contact.
Exchange.
Mutual benefit.
Good works.
Good life.
People can be interesting.
But they are absolutely necessary.

Food Diary.

Two small bowls of strawberries with small amount Devon cream.

Asparagus, tomatoes, mozzarella, salad greens, basil, citrus sections, melon cubes, some potato casserole.

Two mini scones and a small slice of poppyseed bread.

Bloody Mary.

A small serving (four ounces?) of Salmon with some kind of sauce (ginger/lime?) and a salad with mixed greens, fatty dressing, carrots, green onions and cheese.

[I was very good and did not drink alchohol when we went out tonight. Of course, there was that Bloody Mary at lunch.]

About an ounce and a half of goat cheddar as a midnight snack. [I'm not that good.]

Time flies....

Where does the time go? In social discourse. In shops. In installs and puzzles over computers. In watching tennis.

I bought a wireless access point and a wireless card for the laptop today. Then there is the unpacking, the puzzling, the installing.

Reading.

I started Virginia Woolf's A Room of One's Own. This little essay is quite short although, like her novels, there are page-long paragraphs and thoughts running a little wild.

Did I? No? Why not?

Exercise

Bike to nowhere, a little more than fifteen minutes.

Lower body, arms and some abs.

Bike for a little over twenty minutes.

.

mood is a little melancholy but physically I'm fine...
