a certain rhythm I wake up around 5:30 and I know I'll go back to sleep and at 7 or even 7:30 not want to get up. That's what happens, too. But I'm not all that late getting up. I even get to the club at a fairly reasonable hour. Sort of. Have a good workout. Then straight home. I'm going to start sorting things and getting things straight. Then I realize I need to write a thank you note. So I do that. FFP wants something printed. But finally I get into it. I hang a few things I brought home from my work office in my home office. I gather up a few things for the thrift store. Later I take a little drive to a possible area for dog walking and then drop off the stuff at the thrift store. Oddly enough, I feel like I accomplished a lot today. I did sort through a few things, discard a few things. Gradually I'm going to get this mess in order. And then, oh the things I'll accomplish! The evening is devoted to testing some of the recipes for a benfit we are giving. Our bookkeeper Gayle is doing the cooking. She makes pork with tamarind sauce and chutney and a spicy spoon bread. Also, prosciutto with melon. We have tried the other things before. (A special nacho and a two-colored soup.) Dad has wandered by to return a couple of things to me and SuRu has been invited over to partake. We clean up and watch some network TV shows and laugh at the dogs. I have also tested my centerpiece skills, putting together a little test thing with some yellow roses, old CDs and copper cowboy hat and boot. (The theme of the party will be 'New Texas, New Friends.' It doesn't look like much but it's not awful.) Then it's time to read. Catch up on the papers. I really am reading more. I think.
