just another day

I don't have to speak today but I take in some other presentations, talk to people, watch one of my buddies present and he introduces me (the pro from afar, yeah right.)

There is talk of having us go along on a customer dinner. It is more the "just drink, eat and chat" event but I have to speak tomorrow. And how late events go is directly proportional to the number of participants, in my experience. So I cop out of this one and have dinner with two work buddies. I try to steer the conversation to life histories, families, etc. Because it's interesting and because I'm tired of working all the time which you do when you are eating and drinking with work companions. I refuse a nightcap on the grounds that I have to speak tomorrow and need my rest. And, I do.
