dinosaur dream |
|
I woke up and felt pretty drug out with a kind of headache. A bit of allergy, I think. I had to smile, though, when after I got dressed, long after I should have forgotten any dreams, I remembered that there were dinosaurs in my dreams. They looked like Allosaurus (yeah, I had to look it up). None of them were twelve meters long, though. The biggest were about four feet high. ("There's one on the roof," someone says in my dream. That one was making a racket because it was the big one.) The smallest were smaller than a small dog and were running around the perimeter of a large room. Dreams are strange things. My head still felt weird as I headed off to work so I took two Advil when I got there. I was strangely elated, though. In a really good mood. Such a good mood that I worked on my least favorite topic. Then shipped out e-mail pleading for help and worked on something I enjoy but which is vast and requires lots of preparation. Happily. At lunch, SuRu was out with other friends. Mom and Dad didn't answer. So I went to Sam's to check out their supply of vintage champagne. (For the record they had Salon Champagne for $154. I forget the vintage. I never heard of it. And a Dom, 1993 I think, for $114.) I didn't buy anything. I looked at lots of stuff. I almost bought: some AAA batteries, a Mapsco for the surrounding counties, an Italian language CD, a French language CD, a DVD of 13 Days, various cheeses and cotton slacks. Sam's has a way of convincing you need stuff because they have bargains. In the end, deciding against buying the champagne here, I just left. I went to Borders and had a quick snack. Their cafe has sandwiches made somewhere else and isn't very busy. I read the Chronicle and ate in peace. They have a new kiosk at Border's called Title Sleuth. It's pretty cool. The day wound down. I discussed some things with work buddies. I did more work. Really. I was somewhat productive although this task is just beginning and I can't tell how well it's going to go. FFP suggested going to Fonda for 'a couple of apps.' I ordered their special Vuelve a la Vida. Good. More refined than the ones Marisco Grill serves all the time, but more expensive, too. I had the stuffed zuchinni, too. Calabicita Relleno. Then I was the one stuffed. Two glasses of Rhone. FFP helped me finish the zuchinni. He'd eaten his chile relleno. Lisa was our waitress and we talked about getting together. She and Jennifer talked about Brown Bar where they go after their shifts. It's an 'in' place. We haven't been there. (We aren't really into 'in' especially in the manner of bars. So we went home and I fell asleep over the papers only to get up and compute a bit. I decided to try to make glass hanger name tags for my birthday party. Always with the projects! |
