no meetings I was in the Dental Arts office at 7 or so. I was a minute or two late, distracted by ansering a message from a colleague somewhere else in the world. It was OK. They weren't ready for me anyway. I sat in their one guest chair in a reception cum office room choc-a-bloc with computer equipment, diplomas, desks, and large pictures of teeth. The guy got too me just in time to extract me from this cramped no magazines, between a desk and a copier space. In a small office with color charts, he painted like an artist with a palette while looking at my teeth. My mouth feels fine this morning and I am feeling a little better about everything. I am invited to a meeting that I can safely skip. I review other people's presentations and finish my own. I can't remember how to do something in PowerPoint and it makes me mad. I finally win. SuRu and I come back to the hood for lunch. I get my key to her house and try it and she lets Zoey out. Then we go to Star of India for the buffet. After work I stop by the parents. I show Mom a few things and fix her mail servers for a change in our service. She has a new e-mail correspondent, a woman who used to be their neighbor, just retired and got the computer as a retirement present. Dad has finished an Oliver Sacks book and says he's ready to have some new loaners. FFP heats some leftover
chicken in tomato sauce and cheese. After that I feel like a drink. How
come I can drink gin and tonic but not martinis? Is there a secret gin
neutralizer in quinine? After taking care of some travel plans for the fall, I go to THE ROOM for TV and newspapers. FFP is watching Big Brother. "I'll go in the other room." "No, it's OK. I'll read." And no I wasn't entranced with this reality TV show.
