fellowship and wine I get myself to work and I actually finish something. It's probably for naught, but it's very satisfying to me in any case. I lunch at Thundercloud Subs with SuRu. We see the most bizarre blue jeans on a slacke (with a buzz haircut except for some green sprigs in front). Those jeans. The legs are sooo full that they make almost a skirt and so long we can't see the shoes. Nobody takes much notice. The kid is young and looks vulnerable in spite of the brash hair and the amazing pants and a T-shirt touting some mega evil band. I pick up a bit at home and the guests start arriving. SuRu comes with some guacamole and chips. Forrest picks up his parents and his mom has a sort of Waldorf fruit salad. LG & Pam show up with shrimp and a chocolate cake. Deb and Sam come by with a fruit tray. We put out cheese and pate and dolmas and crackers and lots of plates and forks and napkins and come wine. Rebecca stops by on the way to work. And Deanna comes by after a dinner date. Everyone knows each other somehow, mostly. We eat, we talk. I love Friday night. After everyone is gone, I finish cleaning up. Good gossip. Good fun. |
