skipping

Sometimes we have tickets for stuff, we remember that we do, we get it on the calendar but we just don't go. Maybe we try to give the tickets away in a desulotory way at the last minute. Tonight we skipped "Jesus Christ Superstar." Forrest says it is so 'yesterday.' I just need a night when we don't HAVE to do something.

So instead we vegged. Lounged on the couch with the two of us and the dog curled up watching "You've Got Mail." Not a great movie in my opinion, but it was nice being home and together and really relaxing. I think I'd purchased the movie in a hotel one time. I always have trouble sleeping alone in hotels. If I buy a movie, I instantly go to sleep. I found I remembered very little of the movie.

After the movie, we went over to a crowded Fonda San Miguel. There was a wreck in the parking lot. Three vehicles were crunched and a Suburban was in the yard across the street. How it came to be there was a puzzle. We didn't want to know.

Fonda was so crowded that we climbed ungracefully onto the bar stools (comfy, just hard to mount) and ordered a meal. I had a couple of margaritas, Forrest some wine. (Great place to have wine, really, since they serve a lot of them by the glass and have the cabinet which keeps them fresh.)

It was a nice day. My extreme dog walking team did Hyde Park and a bit of the area near there but north of 45th. We had a taco at Julio's. At one stage Zoey burst through some holly bushes after a cat and we had to let go of the leash and pull it through. Zoey loves to chase cats and squirrels. She will stalk the idle plastic bag moving in the wind, too. She had a real experience this day when she saw a squirrel with a plastic bag caught on its neck. Sometimes she gets so excited she jumps straight up in the air. Poodles are amazing. Of course, my Chalow has a great vertical jump considering her stocky physique. Both dogs love to drink from their water bottle like babies (as shown in today's picture).

After walkies, Forrest and I went to Ella's for lunch. Had a nice soup and a 'slice of ice' (iceberg chunk with shameful amounts of bleu cheese and bleu cheese dressing). We went to Gardens afterward and looked at some furniture.

Forrest watched the game (not a good UT day) and I did various little computer tasks and other tasks. I can never remember what I did during these periods...but I'm always quite busy. I scan pictures, I install software and puzzle over it, I try to clean up my groaning e-mail, I shop on-line or pretend to. Computers are wonderful but also frustrating time wasters. Install, re-install, worry about backups. Also, I'm always finding I like the old 1.0 version better than a new one!
