possesions

I mentioned that I felt I'd won the war with my stuff. If one were to see my house just now, he would surely disagree. Or my office. I thought of decorating this page with a picture of the bendie (bendable, posable figures) collection. Instead, in the spirit of this feeling I have, I have decided to use a picture of Boulders beach in the Cape Province of South Africa. Why? Because it is mind furniture, experience, that really counts. I swam in one of these lovely coves and had a picnic. I'm happy I took this picture, have the scanner and the software to present it here. But I have turned the corner and realize that it is the experience that I really cherish.

Work days don't present too many opportunities to write public diary entries. It was a nice work day, though, because I was euphoric at avoiding the trip I was dreading. That euphoria only lasts briefly, however, and then there is plenty to worry about again.

The eXtreme team walked in the dark. Our first innovation when we get in the equipment business will be fluorescent lines on the reel-type leads. The black lines are hard to see and keep untangled. Still, Zoey sometimes instinctively jumps it. Usually she jumps Chalow, though, and not the line. Forrest didn't go along. He would have missed the first minutes of his favorite show, "Ally McBeal." I watch it because he does. Otherwise I wouldn't. Afterwards he watched basketball. When he'd leave the room, I'd flip to a movie.
