Billing day at the good old Good Right Arm, Inc. (How nice of Word
to supply those words automatically.) A ritual I have enjoyed every
fourth week for the last 23 years now. Kind of a summing up of a month's
work that you could go back and look at to trace what happened. Can't
imagine that would be of any interest, but it could be done, especially
since there won't be hardback editions of my biography coming out anytime
soon. Ally McBeal tonight was sillier than usual. I'm really tired of
them putting slapstick bits for John to do in the show. Those exploding
shoes and the childish overdone stutter dip over into stupidity rather
than anything resembling social commentary. Fact is, I still think that
they had the best preliminary to the Prez's big "I told a lie" speech,
though. That night, right before the big confession, they ran the sexual
harassment episode and Fish said "Everybody knows that in order to get
ahead in business, you have to g___(at which point Billy elbowed him
into silence.
Well, I got my reply back from my biggest client after I sent her my
resignation letter. She was very classy about it and totally gracious.
In some ways it hurts like heck to give one like that up, but it's time
to force myself into some changes and there's no way I could have kept
it and traveled like we want to do next year.
