Up at 4:30 a.m. Tuesday a.m., that is. Trying to get a handle on the
market news. Greenspan will surely hike the rates, since he's uptight
about so many people having jobs. What a strange world we live in. The
government acts like it cares so much about the working class and then
it does what it can to slow things down so they have to live on the
streets. Then they can take more cash from the "upper" class
to pay for welfare programs. (The same ones that they've pledged to
eliminate.) Geez. What a bunch of jerks. The only part of the inflation
mix that is ticking up is oil. Of course, if they screw up the economy,
then we have a better chance of sending Al Gore into a career change.
He'd actually be a pretty lousy lobbyist. Can't imagine he's much fun
at parties. Maybe he could resume his career as a journalist.
My main worry is having enough cash around to do all the real estate
deals we want to fool with.

My dog is such a fascinating creature. I love looking at her and wondering
about what she is thinking. In the middle of the night, I can just whisper
to her that she should "go to mommy" and she jumps right over
to Ball's side of the sack. Such an expressive little thing. When I
took her too the groomer yesterday, she started shaking--giving me signs
she wanted to go home. Then when I get her back, she just goes into
overdrive, running into the house and letting me know how much she likes
being there.

Going to a "see and be seen" deal tonight. Should be interesting
to note who shows up. How did I get into this mode, anyway? For somebody
who grew up in the lower end of the middle class, I sure care about
being social. I'll admit, it is a source of fascination and amusement
for me.

I think I'll start working on our Austin sites and tips part of the
board. That should be a good creative outlet for me.
