changing plans Things happen to people and change their plans.
We were scheduled to do something with a friend tonight. A person we like immensely and are cultivating for one of charities, admittedly. (It's OK she does the same to us. People traffic in charities this way.) Her husband had a heart attack last night and he is far away. She seems apologetic that she doesn't want to go out. Whoa...I'd be in a panic. People survive and thrive after bypasses all the time and I suspect he will. But that distance will throw you into a panic. Since our deal on the building fell through, we are showing it again. FFP called a stack of prospects and turned up some interested enough to look today. People plan, hedge, hesitate and do. Things happen. I had a vision for the new bathroom. Translating that into real faucets and tile and such is another matter. Yikes. I am pretty pleased with the faucets and toilet until I look at the tile and realize that I don't know what the 'cultured marble' tub and countertop will look like. (I don't have samples of it yet.) Then I worry that the faucets won't look good with anything called cultured marble. The contractor puts his designer wife on the phone to reassure me and she says it will work and she will help me make it so. Whew. I hope so. I am also in awe of the 'budget breaker' faucets that would cost as much for one as my builder allowed for two sink faucets, tub faucets, shower head and control and a toilet! I also wonder why anyone would want a toilet with a marbly finish. I have trouble starting on projects sometimes. But the first step to the remodel is done...the bushes are gone where the new piers will go. FFP called the yard men and boom...no bushes. Well, there are plans and there is what happens. One is just a shadowy ephermeral dream and reality reflects the light and puts a whole different spin on things. It's best to be flexible. But heart attacks and property ownership and remodeling take you down some one-way paths. But heart attacks put faucets in their proper place. |

lunch snacks well...what is a meal
at 2PM? Anyway, I had a Sonic Cheeseburger #2 meaning a single patty burger
with cheese, onions, pickles, lettuce and mustard. And I ask for a small
diet Limeade but got a large because the voice on the menu said it 'was
the same price.' Ah...this is the supersizing we hear so much about. And
who knew they had diet limeade? It tastes pretty good...but is
so big I'm still drinking it three hours later. dinner Today I didn't |

I had tennis at 8:15 and after a little over an hour of tennis, I went to the gym for a few more minutes. I waited around doing stuff on the computer for an hour until some guys delivered a TV from the repair shop that isn't broken (long story) and then I decided to shower and go to the stores looking for stuff for our remodel. I then realize that I haven't eaten. I go on and deal with faucets and toilets. I decide to look at tile. There is an ambulance and a fire truck in front of the strip of businesses with the tile store. So I go to Sonic and that's all over after I eat a burger. At home again I go with FFP to show the building and poof...it's time to go out. Since the woman who invited us is not going to the event, we aren't really sure we can get in. But the person handing out tickets knows her and us and we do. Afterward, I ask Norman Lear in person about the forgotten All That Giitters late-night soap opera. He called it the 'reversal of Genesis' show. We went out to eat after going to the lecture. At home, having drunk a little wine, I fell into bed after not too long
